CRAZY FEATHER KENNELS offer a unique opportunity for the hunter today: a chance to buy a well-trained pointer, setter or Brittany which has been trained and hunted exclusively on wild birds. Crazy Feather Kennels is located in beautiful Southern Illinois and are the proud owner of the finest string of “wild” bird dogs in North America today. Our dogs are trained and conditioned at our home kennel each spring, summer and fall before departure for the greatest bobwhite habitat in the world Tamauliupas, Mexico. Once there, our string of over 50 dogs retrieve anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 wild birds killed over them each season. We employ 6 handlers during the season, and they generally carry out 8-10 dogs each per day.

Few wild bird dogs are available today, and the dogs that we offer have experience that few dogs in the world will ever encounter. These dogs learn to wind, track and locate feeding, and running quail in a way that cannot be taught with pen-raised and liberated birds. Gerry Glasco was well known in the early 1980's among field trialers for his training of such dogs as five-time champion Stephen's Super Sport, four-time champion Stephen's Super Thriller, and Runner-up National Champion Super Sport's Image. All off these dogs were hunted in Mexico.
