South Dakota Hunting & Fishing License

            The following is a “step by step” guide to purchasing hunting and fishing licenses online for our hunters.  Please follow the steps closely and if you have any questions or problems please feel free to contact CFO.

1. On your computer log onto www.sdgfp.info/  
2. Now mouse over the words License and Reservations
3. Select Buy General Hunting and Fishing Licenses
4. This page will tell you what information is needed (over 16yrs of age, valid social security number, drivers license or state issued ID card, credit card, and a printer).  You will need to print a copy of your license receipt, which will have all of your hunting and fishing privileges on a single form.  You must carry a copy of receipt that is signed, along with ID that was used to purchase license while you are hunting or fishing.
5. After reading this page, scroll to bottom and click on continue.
6. Click on gray box that says “New user click here”.
7. Now begin to fill out the information requested in the gray boxes.  When you get to the “Identification type” box, click on the down arrow to the right in the gray box.  Now select what type of ID you wish to use.
8. Now type in the number of the card that you are using.
9. Enter your e-mail address.
10. “Challenge Question” This is asking you to type in a question that only you know the answer to.  This is in case you forget your password, you can answer this question to receive your password via email or have a chance to change your password to one you are able to remember easier.
11. “Challenge Answer” This is the answer to your Challenge Question that only you should know.
12. Now click on the Next button in the bottom right corner.
13. Now select the type of hunting or fishing privileges that you wish to purchase.  We recommend Non-Resident small game.  Read the information now provided to make sure that this is the license that you wish to purchase.  Now enter the dates of the hunt you have booked in the boxes below.  Then click “add to cart”.
14. Now note the information in the box on the right, to make sure if everything is correct.  Now click on the red “Check Out” box if correct.
15. Now review all the information on this page, if everything is correct click on the “Continue Checkout” button at the bottom right of the page.
16. Here you are asked to enter your credit card information.  Once you have all of you information entered and have reviewed that it is correct, click on the “Purchase” button.
17.  From this point on just follow the instructions that you are given to print out your license.  Make sure you have a copy of receipt that is signed, along with ID that was used to purchase license while you are hunting or fishing.
